History
The site launched in July 2000 as “Midi For Clarinet and Other Musical Resources”, with a change of address (www.clarinet-players.co.uk) and major revamp in late December 2000. Musical Resources was launched in November 2001, and the site has passed through several incarnations at this address (www.musicalresources.co.uk).

Personal
Musical Resources was created by Tim Foxon (born Ashford, Kent in 1983), and all materials were written by myself unless otherwise indicated. I am currently a postgraduate research student at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, having graduated with a first class degree in Music from the same institution. Many of the A-Level resources on the site were written while I was studying for that particular exam and should be treated as the work of a student. I hope they remain useful.

As a clarinettist, I have the A.T.C.L (recital) diploma, achieved in 2001, and have performed in various orchestras and ensembles over the years, including the University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, the South Kent Youth Orchestra and Kent Music School Concert Orchestra, playing principal clarinet at such venues as Symphony Hall (Birmingham), the CBSO Centre, and Leeds Castle (Kent). I was leader of the Ashford Youth Wind Orchestra between 2000-2. I am a regular accompanist of student recitals, and have conducted the University Chamber Choir and Windband. My degree involved the preparation of two dissertations: one discussing the importance of 'sonata form' in the symphonies of Sibelius, the other an investigation into the cultural context of English musical pastoralism. I am now beginning work on an MPhil thesis on the development of the symphony in England.
